How do I reserve and pay for my chalet rental?

To secure your reservation, we ask you to print and sign our reservation form, and send it to us, by post, accompanied by your booking deposit of 200€. You may pay your booking deposit online (using PayPal), by Euro check or by inter-bank transfer.
On the day of your arrival, you will be asked to pay the balance of your rental charge, plus a security deposit of 300€, which will be refunded when you depart. You may pay your rental charge and security deposit by Euro check or in cash.
Can I book a chalet for just a weekend?
Sorry, but we do not accept weekend reservations.
Can I choose my days of arrival and departure?
Chalets are rented on a weekly basis, with changeover each Wednesday.
To allow adequate time for inspection, outgoing guests are required to leave between 9AM and 11AM on the day of departure and new guests may take occupation from 1PM to 3PM.
What happens if I want to cancel or change my booking?
Please see Terms of rental
What happens if I fail to arrive or arrive late for my reserved chalet?
Please see Terms of rental
What happens if I need to leave early on my day of departure?
Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. The reception office is open from 9AM to 12PM each day.
Will my chalet contain everything I need for the duration of my stay?
All of our chalets are fully furnished and equipped to a high standard.
In the kitchen you will find a full complement of kitchenware (to suit the sleeping capacity of the chalet) as well as a microwave oven, fridge and electric kettle. Most models of chalet also include a washing machine.
The lounge includes a TV equipped to receive French television channels.
We do not provide bed linen or towels. However, for your hygiene, we install new disposable mattress and pillow covers each time a chalet occupancy changes.
For a complete list of the items included in your preferred chalet, please see the relevant chalet page.
What happens if I break something or damage the chalet?
If you break something or damage the chalet, please notify us immediately, so that we can take prompt action to ensure your safety and comfort.
We understand that accidents occasionally happen and we are generally tolerant of minor breakages, such as broken glasses. However, in the event of serious or malicious loss or damage, your security deposit may be at risk.
Am I expected to clean the chalet at the end of my stay?
Yes, all our chalets are rented on the basis that you leave them in the condition that you find them. On the day of your departure, the chalet will be inspected and, if found to require cleaning, you will have the choice of cleaning it yourself or paying a cleaning surcharge of 80€.
What happens if a prior guest has left my chalet in a poor condition?
Prior to every new guest arrival, our chalets are inspected and given any necessary cleaning or maintainance. We work to a strict quality checklist to ensure that you will only be pleasantly surprised.
When you arrive, you will be shown to your chalet by a member of our staff, where you will have the chance to inspect the chalet for yourself and point out anything that you are not happy with. If necessary, we will arrange prompt maintenance or replace anything that is missing or broken.
Within the first 24 hours of your stay, you are also welcome to report to us any defects or missing items. After this period, we will consider that you have had adequate opportunity to inspect the chalet, and you will become responsible for the state of the chalet on your departure.
Will I pay extra for electricty and water consumption?
No. All water and electricity charges are included in the rental price of your chalet.
Am I allowed to accommodate friends in the chalet that I rent?
Each chalet provides sleeping accommodation for a designated number of people. You can see the sleeping capacity of any chalet by looking at our chalets page. You are welcome to invite guests as long as you remain within the designted capacity of your chosen chalet.
Am I allowed to park my car next to my chalet?
Parking space for one car is allocated adjacent to every chalet. Additional parking for guests and their visitors is available at the entrance to the complex.
Is the complex secure?
The perimeter of the complex is fenced and access is restricted by an automatic electric gate.
When you arrive, you will be issued with a remote control handset for the gate, which must be returned when you leave.
Can I get into and out of the complex at night?
The electric gate that secures the entrance to the complex operates 24 hours per day, using the remote control handset that will be issued to you on your arrival.
However, if you choose to enter or leave by car at night, please respect your fellow guests by strictly observing the speed limits and keeping noise to a minimum.
Are there plenty of activities for my children on the complex?
A small children's play area has been created for use by our guests. It includes a swing and a sand pit. Please note that the supervision and safety of your children remains your responsibility at all times.
However, Chalets La Mouette is oriented primarily at holidaymakers seeking high-quality chalet accommodation in a peaceful rural environment.
So, although we welcome children, we expect all guests to respect the privacy and confort of the others around them. We do not allow ball games and there is no swimming pool, as we feel that these would lead to unwelcome noise and disturbance.
Can I bring my dog or cat during my stay?
Sorry, we do not allow animals on the complex.
Where can I find tourist information for the region?
Our attractions page includes details of some of the many tourist venues in the locality. For more information regarding tourist activities, please visit the website of St Gilles Croix de Vie or enquire at the reception.
